About

Our Approach

We are a privately held real estate management company based in Honolulu Hawaii, with a diverse portfolio across Hawaii and the continental United States.

As a second-generation family company, we are inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of our founder and visionary hotelier Herbert “H.T.” Hayashi. His values of stewardship, proficiency, trust and resilience are embedded within our company culture and guide our vision as a forward-thinking and collaborative company.

Our Mission

The mission of HTH Asset Management is to deliver value, managed through our commitment to our corporate values. We also believe we have a duty to all of our stakeholders, including owners and investors, employees and their families, customers and tenants, partners, and our community.

Our History

A visionary mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit

Growing up on Oahu’s Ewa Mills Camp sugar plantation, H.T. Hayashi rose from humble beginnings to become a self-made entrepreneur. His deep understanding and respect for hard work and authenticity resulted in a company where everyone was valued and given an opportunity, irrespective of their position.

With a visionary mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, he developed innovative properties which provided opportunities for residents and unique experiences for visitors from around the world.

In 1964, his first property, the Pagoda Hotel and floating restaurant was built. Complete with a koi pond that was made available to the public, it became an iconic Hawaii landmark.

In 1975, Hayashi established HTH Corporation. In 1979, he found inspiration in what was then considered a revolutionary material – plexiglass. The development of the Pacific Beach Hotel with its famous 280,000-gallon, three-story Oceanarium was the first-of-its kind.

In 1991, the company expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel and continued to own and operate all three hotels for more than 25 years.

In 2016, HTH Asset Management, LLC. was established to reflect the company’s evolution to a national real estate management company extending its portfolio of hotels, resorts and office buildings as well as commercial and residential properties.
